Privacy Policy

Rimemba ("we", "us", "our") provides a reminder service for bills, renewals and recurring obligations, delivered via Telegram, email and SMS, built for people in Nigeria. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use rimemba.xyz, why we collect it, and the choices you have. By creating an account, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information we collect

Account information: your name, email address, phone number, and password (stored as a one-way hash, never in plain text) when you register.

Reminder content: the titles, categories, due dates and notes you enter for the reminders you create — this is the core of what makes the service work.

Payment information: if you choose to add a card, pay to activate or reactivate your subscription, or top up SMS credits, your card is processed directly by our payment processor, Paystack. We never see or store your full card number — we only receive a payment reference, status, and a reusable authorization code for your recurring subscription charge.

Telegram connection: if you connect Telegram, we store your Telegram chat ID so we can deliver reminders to you there. We do not access your other Telegram messages or contacts.

Delivery logs: a record of which reminders were sent, through which channel (Telegram, email, SMS), and whether delivery succeeded — used for support and to avoid duplicate or missed notifications.

Technical data: standard web server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) for security and troubleshooting.

2. How we use your information

• To create and manage your account and subscription.
• To send you the reminders you set, through the channels you've connected (Telegram, email, and SMS where credits are available).
• To process trial verification charges, subscription renewals, and SMS credit top-ups.
• To send transactional emails — payment receipts, reminder confirmations, and account notices.
• To respond to support requests sent to hello@rimemba.xyz.
• To detect abuse, prevent fraud, and keep the service secure.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your reminder content for advertising.

3. Who we share data with

We use a small number of trusted third-party processors to run the service, each of which only receives the data it needs to do its job:

• Paystack — processes card payments and subscription charges.
• Brevo — delivers transactional emails (reminders, receipts, verification).
• TekSMS — delivers SMS reminders to your phone number.
• Telegram — delivers reminders to your connected Telegram chat, via Telegram's Bot API.

We do not share your data with advertisers or data brokers. We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Rimemba, our users, or the public.

4. Data retention

We keep your account and reminder data for as long as your account is active, plus a reasonable period afterward for accounting, fraud-prevention, and legal purposes. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing hello@rimemba.xyz — we'll act on verified requests within a reasonable timeframe, subject to any records we're legally required to retain.

5. Your rights

Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) 2023 and applicable regulations, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate or incomplete data — most of this you can do yourself from your Profile page.
• Request deletion of your data, subject to legal retention requirements.
• Withdraw consent to marketing communications at any time.
• Lodge a complaint with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC) if you believe your data has been mishandled.

6. Data security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data — encrypted transmission (HTTPS) across the site, hashed password storage, and no storage of full card numbers on our servers. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your information safe and will notify affected users in the event of a data breach as required by law.

7. Children's privacy

Rimemba is intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor has registered an account, contact us and we'll remove it.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time as the service evolves. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do. Continued use of Rimemba after changes take effect means you accept the revised policy.
